What playbuns is
playbuns is a collection of web games you open straight in a browser. Every one of them is designed, built and shipped by one person. Because there is no account, your progress lives in your own browser and never reaches a server.
Most of these games are hybrids: a classic genre everybody already knows, plus one judgment call that genre never asked you to make. Layer deduction onto sudoku and filling a cell becomes buying evidence (Murder Grid). Layer card drafting onto sudoku and the question flips to «should I play this card at all» (Draftoku). Layer a market onto 2048 and merging tiles becomes timing a sale (Market 2048). The point is to cut the cost of explaining the rules to nearly zero while still creating a decision nobody has made before.
Games with a daily puzzle generate it deterministically from the date, so everyone playing on a given day gets exactly the same board — the only way comparing results means anything. Result cards show how you solved it and never what the answer was.
The games
Murder Grid
Complete rows, columns and boxes in a 6×6 sudoku to unlock clues, then name the suspect, location and weapon. Rules and strategy →
Draftoku
Sudoku where you can't pick your number. Fill the grid with drafted cards and dodge the traps — a third of legal moves are mines. Rules and strategy →
FandomDex
Guess your fave — idols, anime characters, movies — from stat and skill hints. A pixel quiz you can battle friends on.
Market 2048
2048 where big numbers aren't the answer. Merging shakes the market — sell the surging ranks and hit your cash target.
Boss 2048
A boss roams the board. Park big tiles next to it to auto-attack — spend your numbers and kill it before turns run out.
EcoFlip
The Reversi where conquering loses. Plant species to flip, but overreach brings famine — harvest each season and win by balance.
Breath Snake
A snake that dives on one breath. Deeper means a bigger multiplier, but heavy cargo makes the trip home expensive — only the surface banks your points.
Cargo Snake
Every box you eat becomes a segment of your body, and deliveries only leave from the tail. Grab the nearest crate and you have wrecked your own loading order.
Chroma Drop
A falling-block puzzle where a full line means nothing unless it is the right colour. Red, blue and yellow blend on contact — only the target colour clears.
Peak Load
Completed lines do not clear themselves. They sit on the board glowing gold until you fire them — and the grid only pays you if you fire at the right moment.
Restoration Box
A box-pushing puzzle where the boxes are broken statue fragments. Line up the joint faces and they fuse into one rigid piece — fuse too early and the statue will not fit through the corridor.
Magnet Break
Breakout with a paddle that never moves. Switch the left and right magnets to bend the ball mid-flight, and match its polarity to the block you want to break.
kneepotato
Body part + food = your official stage name. Certified by kneepotato OS.
Moonlight Exchange (Korean only)
A pixel RPG where you roam a fictional city, verify rumours, and learn investing over three in-game years. Rules and strategy →
